All consultations can be self managed in your patient portal. You can book a new consultation, reschedule or cancel a consultation, view details of previous and upcoming consultations, as well as attend any scheduled consultations.
Booking
To book a follow-up doctor consultation, follow the steps below:
- Login to your Patient Portal.
- Select “Consultations” from the navigation menu or “Book and view consultations" from the homepage.
- If you have no upcoming consultations, there will be an option to “Book consultation”.
- This will take you to a booking calendar. Select a date and time that works for you and choose "confirm" once selected.
Your consultation details will be updated in your patient portal and you’ll also receive an email confirming the date and time.
No availability
If you are trying to book a follow-up consultation but your doctor has no availability for over 10 days, there should be an option to book in with the first available doctor instead.
To do so, follow the steps below:
- Login to your Patient Portal.
- Select “Consultations” from the navigation menu or “Book and view consultations" from the homepage.
- If you have no upcoming consultations, there will be an option to “Book consultation”.
- A pop-up will appear stating that your doctor has no availability for the next 10 days. If you’d like to book an earlier consultation with a different doctor, select “ Book with first available doctor”.
- A second pop-up will appear stating that any existing prescriptions will be cancelled once you complete a consultation with a new doctor. If you’re happy to continue, select “Confirm” to proceed.
- You’ll then be directed to a calendar, follow the prompts to book in your consultation.
If your doctor has no availability at all, and you’d like to keep your current doctor, or there is no option to book in with a different doctor, please contact Alternaleaf. Our patient support team will investigate and escalate to the clinical team if required.
Attending
To locate your Coviu link and attend an upcoming consultation, follow the steps below:
- Login to your Patient Portal.
- Select “Consultations” from the navigation menu or “Book and view consultations" from the homepage.
- If you have an upcoming consultation, there will be an option to “Start consultation”. Please note, this will only become active 10 minutes prior to your scheduled time.
This lets the nurse or doctor know that you are ready for your consultation, and from there they will initiate either a phone call or a video call with you.
Rescheduling
You can reschedule your consultation up until the scheduled booking time. To do so, follow the steps below:
- Login to your Patient Portal.
Select “Consultations” from the navigation menu or “Book and view consultations" from the homepage.
- If you have an upcoming consultation, there will be an option to “Manage, reschedule or cancel your booking”.
- Follow the prompts to reschedule your booking.
Your consultation will be updated in your patient portal and you’ll also receive an email confirming the new date and time. In order to provide the most up-to-date availability for all patients, we kindly ask that you give as much notice as possible. There are currently no fees associated with rescheduling your consultation.
Cancellations
You can cancel your consultation up until the scheduled booking time. To do so, follow the steps below:
- Login to your Patient Portal.
- Select “Consultations” from the navigation menu or “Book and view consultations" from the homepage.
3. If you have an upcoming consultation, there will be an option to “Manage, reschedule or cancel your booking”.
4. Follow the prompts to cancel your booking.
You'll receive an email confirming the cancellation of your consultation. In order to provide the most up-to-date availability for all patients, we kindly ask that you give as much notice as possible. There are currently no cancellation fees.
